Mid America Alpaca Show Spinoff results are in! CRANC Peruvian Lunatari placed 1st in the 2yr old white class, RA Sophie placed 3rd in a combined 2yr old+ class, Spruce Ridge Felix Augusto placed 4th in a combined 2yr old + class!
October 25, 2011 Oakwood School Pre-K alpaca experience. What a delight to meet these young people and introduce them to alpacas. They were well behaved as they enjoyed making a coaster out of alpaca fiber!

Please join us for our 4th annual celebration and learning opportunity of everything alpaca hosted by Celestine Ridge Alpacas, 1913 NC Hwy 121, Greenville, NC, 27834 252-717-3311. This multiple alpaca farm discovery opportunity will be packed with fun for the whole family. The Fiber Shack and Discovery Center at Celestine Ridge, will feature products from each participating farm. We have been busy stocking the shelves in preparation for this event and the coming Holiday Season. We have unwashed fine fleeces, roving, yarns, needle felting supplies, alpaca clothing, and many handcrafted items that may help you find the perfect gift for that hard-to-buy-for person on your list. Karen Feegle, of the former Clara’s Yarn Shop in Winterville, will be spinning alpaca roving into yarn. Would you like a chance to spin? Ask Karen! Karen will have handspun yarns, rovings, finished products and more available for purchase.
John Cunningham of Ivy League Farm, Kenly, NC will bring suri alpacas, adding even more to the educational experience.
Rosemarie Tanner of Roselle Studio in the Shennandoah Valley of Virginia will be displaying and selling her one- of-a-kind handpainted porcelain items.
Betsy and Ralph Nelson of Chosen Few Alpacas, Greenville, NC, will be on hand to share their expertise in raising alpacas in several states for the past 12 years.
Heidi and Jim Kittrell and their family welcome you to their farm and Discovery Center at Celestine Ridge. Heidi and their sons enjoy raising alpacas and sharing their needle felting and fiber arts talents with others. Needlefelted ornaments are their signature item.
We support Scouting in Pitt County! Our sons will be selling popcorn, sodas and snacks to benefit Scouting in Pitt County. Free admission, free drawings for prizes, spinning and felting demonstrations, children's activities, and more both days!

Friday and Saturday September 9th and 10th The Blind Center Autumn Area Craft Show, Washington, NC 9am-4pm both days. We will have a booth and demo needlefelting as time permits. The Blind Center serves a yummy lunch and desserts. Many other artisans and The Blind Center's Gift Shop is open as well. Get a jump start on your holiday shopping! Thanks for stopping by!
Saturday, July 30th, 2011 10AM- 2PM The Newly formed Good Fiberations will meet at Celestine Ridge Alpacas for an alpaca discovery and needlefelting experience. FREE!! Drinks will be provided. We ask that you bring a bag lunch. Please RSVP to Karen Feegle or Heidi Kittrell by 7/28, so we can have all the supplies available for you to make your own cookie cutter ornament. Limited to 20 guests. Any fiber enthusiast can join us. We meet on a regular basis,with rotating venues. Beginner fiber/yarn project makers to professional fiber artists. We do have fun! June 28th, 2011- St. Paul's Episcopal Church Knitting group Alpaca Discovery! We had a wonderful time needlefelting zipper pulls with alpaca fiber. We were given the pattern for a frilly Potato Chip Scarf, thanks Grin. Sorry, I did not take pictures of it but I can make you a copy.
June 28th, 2011- Ulster Project Greenville-Loundonderry Alpaca Experience. These youth braved the heat and humidity to experience alpacas! I think the climatic change was a shock to our Irish friends. A highlight was also the "puppy herd". June 1st, 2011 Red Hat, Jazzy Belles, Chocowinity, NC Alpaca Discovery- the group got to visit with the alpacas, learn about the history of alpacas in the US, and made their own Red Hat Refrigerator magnet or clothing pin. They got to experience an extra treat!!!- Life on the farm and the birth of puppies from our tornado dog, Sadie. Sadie had 9 PUPPIES!!! Puppies anyone????

Celestine Ridge Alpacas participated in the CABO Booth at the Carolina Fiber Fest. It was great to meet new alpaca and fiber enthusiasts, and to see fellow alpaca breeders again. We also want to thank our new friends who purchased the following fleeces from the fleece sales room- Our Peruvian Munay of CRANC 2011, RA Martha 2010, Celestine Peruvian Persistence 2011, CRANC Peruvian Lunatari 2011, and Coffee Pot Peruvian Isabella 2011 fleeces. We saved back portions of some of these fleeces to show this year as spinoffs. Let us know what you have made from these fleeces! Thanks to all who attended. Looking forward to seeing you again.
5/13/11 THE FIBER SHACK AND DISCOVERY CENTER GOES ELECTRIC!!!!
It is hard for us to believe that the Fiber Shack and Discovery Center at Celestine Ridge is just over one year old. Well, we had electricity run to the building and we are so excited. Thanks TIM SIDERS. Be looking for a special announcement soon.
Shearing Day April 6th, 2011
Jamie Jones and his headsman, Matt Stone did an excellent job of shearing 42 alpacas here at Celestine Ridge Alpacas. Shearing is a community event with 3 additional farms represented here this year. Chosen Few Alpacas, Cinnamon Creek Farm, and Farmer Nancy's Alpacas. We had several visitors and helpers this year. Thanks to Floyd Moore and Jack Kittrell for being on the take down team. David and Big Jim were excellent rope men, and Jim was an excellent fiber person.
Then the boys and I went over to Ivey League Farms in Kenly, NC to shear their alpacas. They have suri alpacas and their fiber is very different from that of huacayas. It was fun to see John, Jay, and Mike again.

March 2011 Red Hat, Chocowinity Alpaca Discovery- Marcia and her fellow Red Hats came for an alpaca discovery and to needlefelt a Red Hat Pin. It was a great treat for all of us!
2011 Carolina Alpaca Celebration February 18-20th, 2011 Nancy Reinhard of Farmer Nancy's Alpacas traveled with us to the show. Her yearling males, Nancy's Bobby Sox and Celestine Ridge Berceuse took 6th and 3rd places, respectively in their classes. Celestine Ridge Peruvian Faith brought home 3rd place in the female yearrling bred and owned class. Spinoff entries were-Celestine Ridge Antoinette 2nd Place, CRANC Peruvian Lunatari 5th, and RA Martha received a first place, Judges choice, and High Score Award for her fleece.
